School's Out!

We made it through the school year! I am very proud of both the big boys!! Bret has really excelled this year in kindergarten. He started off the year a little hesitant, but he ended up really loving school and making lots of friends. One of the moms of a little girl in his class told me that all the girls have crushes on him :) He certainly is a sweet little guy! He got an award for "Outstanding Student" as well as his kindergarten diploma. They had a little program with all the afternoon classes and I took some video of him singing. One song is "This Land is Your Land" and the other is some song about being a good citizen. Watching them, I felt a little bummed b/c my camera will only take very short videos (around 10 seconds) which kind of sucks when you want to see the whole song. But hopefully you can get an idea... I think we'll try and get a new camera for Christmas this year!

Parker finished off the year in mainstream class full time. In fact, on the last day (which was a half day and surely chaotic) he was in there the whole time without his aide! This is a HUGE accomplishment for him!!! I am really proud of how far he has come this school year. He also received an award at the 2nd grade award ceremony for science. :) It was so great to see him there w/ his mainstream class doing everything they were and not acting silly. Not many parents want to cry tears of joy just watching their child sitting on the floor w/ their class, but I do! It is so great to see him with all those kids. He even cheered for his friend Peter when he got his award!

Tubby is doing some new things! He can now pull himself up to standing on occasion! He really wants to crawl, but still can't. He does move around by scooching, which is pretty cute. He also got 2 new teeth! The 2 top teeth are in now and he is grinding them against the bottom ones, which is driving me a little crazy, but I know he will (hopefully) stop once he is used to them.

Bunny the dog is doing pretty good, but she still has some troubles behaving. She really is sweet and so gentle with the kids. She does spaz out from time to time and I worry about her barreling over someone, but she has not growled or anything like that. She is getting spayed this week. We thought about having puppies for a brief moment, but decided that would be a little nutso. Someday I'd like to have puppies or kittens or something, but right now I think we have enough on our plate!!

Here are the videos of Bret singing (he is the 4th from the right in the front row wearing a navy shirt and khaki shorts):

I'll get some other pictures up soon, but hopefully these videos will tide you over for a bit!
