I just had a parent teacher conference w/ Parker's teacher. I almost cried in there I was so proud of him! His teacher had nothing but great things to say (this is his mainstream teacher). He is sitting in a group w/ other kids and doing all his work all day!!! He has come so far this past year... from having to sit w/ walls around him w/ his back to the class and having an aide w/ him all the time, to sitting right there w/ all the kids working independently. Of course, he is not perfect and still has some struggles, but he is MILES ahead of where he was last year. His teacher last year wrote for one of his goals that he would "sit at a desk and begin a task when asked w/ less than 3 prompts." She didn't even think he could complete an assignment. :( And now look at him!!! I will refrain from typing expletives about the old teacher.
Bret's conference was great too! It took about 5 minutes and his teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about him too. He is reading well above grade level and doing great in all his subjects.
Bret is in Cub Scouts (look for a popcorn sale email soon) and we're going to try it w/ Parker too. I am really excited for both of them to be in it! The group of kids seems really nice and the leaders are great w/ the kids. Now to buy the "suits" as Bret calls them. They are expensive!!
Anyway, just wanted to write a quick note b/c I am SO proud of them! YAY!!!

That is so awesome! Not really a surprise that you have great kids but so nice to get validation from outsiders. Send us the popcorn information and pics of them in their suits ;)
